Flex Alarm Pro Privacy Policy
Flex Alarm Pro is an Android app published on Google Play by RejectedAlts Studios. This page is the complete privacy policy for that app. The studio privacy policy covers this website and all of our apps, including this one; the two say the same things about this app and are kept in step.
In short: Flex Alarm Pro does not collect, store or share any personal data with us. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no advertising ID. Your alarms, timers and settings stay on your device. The app's own code makes no network connections. In the Google Play version, Google's billing library talks to Google Play to process and check the Pro purchase; Google handles that under its own policy.
1. Who is responsible
RejectedAlts Studios (Victor R Okowita, sole proprietor), Avon, Ohio, United States. Privacy contact: support@rejectedaltsstudios.com.
2. What the app collects
Nothing. The app has no code that sends information to us or to any analytics, crash-reporting or advertising service. We do not receive your name, email address, device identifiers, location, contacts, photos, usage statistics or anything else from the app. If you contact us, we receive what you send; see section 6.
3. What the app stores on your device
Everything below is saved in the app's private storage on your phone, which other apps cannot read. None of it is sent to us.
- Your alarms: label, time, repeat days, chosen sound, volume and ramp settings, alert mode, Do Not Disturb choice, tile colour or background photo, and sort order.
- Your timers: label, duration, icon, sound, colour or background photo, and saved presets.
- Settings: theme and custom colours, snooze preferences, sort order and widget preferences.
- Photo backgrounds (Pro): when you pick a photo for an alarm or timer, the app saves a cropped copy in its own private folder. The original stays in your gallery. The app uses the Android photo picker, so it never gets access to your whole photo library.
- Ringtone choice: only the reference to the sound you chose is stored, not the audio file.
- Google Play version only: a small trial record (when you started the 14-day Pro trial and how much of it has been used). It contains no personal information and is not included in Android backup.
To delete all of this, uninstall the app, or clear the app's storage from your phone's Settings.
4. Permissions and why the app asks for them
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Alarms and reminders (exact alarms) | So an alarm or timer goes off at the exact minute you set. |
| Notifications | To show the alarm notification and the ringing screen. |
| Full-screen notifications | To show the ringing screen over your lock screen. |
| Foreground service (media playback) | To keep playing the alarm sound until you stop or snooze it. |
| Run after restart | To put your alarms back after the phone reboots, the time changes or the app updates. |
| Vibrate | For the vibration alert mode. |
| Keep the device awake | So the volume ramp and auto-silence keep running while the screen is off. |
| Do Not Disturb access | Only if you turn on "Alert during Do Not Disturb" for an alarm. With that access, the app marks its alarm notification as allowed through Do Not Disturb, so the ringing screen can show, and reads your Do Not Disturb setting to warn you when an alarm would be silenced. It never changes your Do Not Disturb settings. |
| Google Play version only: Internet, network state, Google Play Billing | Added by Google's billing library so the app can check whether Pro has been purchased and complete the purchase through Google Play. The app's own code makes no network connections; the billing library talks to Google Play, and Google handles that under its own policy. |
The app does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, call, SMS or storage-wide permissions, and it does not use the advertising ID.
5. What can leave your device, and to whom
- Google Play purchase. When you buy Pro, the payment is handled by Google Play on your device. Google receives the purchase information, processes the payment and issues the receipt under the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Play Terms of Service. We do not receive your payment details, and the app does not send purchase information to any server of ours. What Google's billing library sends to Google Play is handled by Google under its own policy.
- Your own Android backup. If you have device backup turned on, Android may back up the app's data (alarms, timers, settings and the cropped photo copies) to your own Google account, or copy it straight to a new phone when you transfer your data, so it comes back after a reinstall or on a new phone. Two files are excluded from backup: the trial record and the app's internal alarm-scheduling mirror. This backup belongs to you and is controlled by your device settings, not by us.
The app's own code makes no network connections, and there are no third-party analytics, crash-reporting or advertising services in the app.
6. Retention and deletion
Data on your device (section 3) stays until you delete it or uninstall the app; we never have a copy. Data in your Android backup is governed by your Google account and device settings. Data held by Google Play about your purchase is governed by Google's policies.
Messages you send us are the only personal information we hold about you. Email to support@ or hello@, and calls, texts and voicemail to our support number (a Google Voice number, provided by Google), are kept for up to 24 months after your request is closed, then deleted, unless we must keep a record longer (for example, a refund dispute or a legal requirement). You can ask us to delete your correspondence sooner at any time; sections 9 to 11 explain how.
7. How we protect information
App data lives in the app's private storage on your device, protected by Android's app isolation and your device lock; other apps cannot read it. Your Pro purchase is processed by Google Play on Google's systems. Anything you email us sits in a business mailbox hosted by Microsoft with access limited to the studio; calls, texts and voicemail to our support number pass through Google Voice, a Google service, with the same limited access. We do not export your messages to other tools. Because we hold so little, the practical risk to you is small. If we ever learned of a breach affecting personal information we hold, we would tell the people affected and any authority the law requires.
8. Children
Flex Alarm Pro is intended for people aged 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Because the app sends us no personal information at all, this applies to every user. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information by email, text or phone, contact support@rejectedaltsstudios.com and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you (for most people, only the emails, calls, texts or voicemails you sent us), ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to support@rejectedaltsstudios.com. We will reply within 30 days and will not treat you differently for asking. We may need to confirm that the request comes from the address or number in question. Since the app gives us no personal data, there is usually nothing to act on, but you are welcome to ask.
10. California residents (CalOPPA)
This section is provided under the California Online Privacy Protection Act.
- Categories of personally identifiable information we collect: through the app, none. Through email or phone contact, your contact details (email address, phone number, name if given) and the content of your message.
- Categories of third parties we share it with: none for marketing or sale. Google receives your purchase data when you buy Pro through Google Play, holds your own device backup if you use it, and carries calls and texts to our support number (Google Voice); Microsoft hosts our email.
- Reviewing and changing your information: email us; we will show you what we hold (your correspondence), correct it or delete it.
- How we notify you of material changes: by posting the new policy here with a new effective date at the top, and in the app's release notes on Google Play. See section 13.
- Effective date: shown at the top of this page.
- Do Not Track: see section 12.
- Third-party collection across sites over time: we do not allow any third party to collect personally identifiable information about your activities over time and across different websites or apps through this app. There are no advertising or analytics trackers.
11. EU and UK residents (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the following applies under the General Data Protection Regulation and the UK GDPR.
- Controller: RejectedAlts Studios, as named in section 1, Avon, Ohio, United States, support@rejectedaltsstudios.com.
- What we process and why: (a) your contact details and message when you email, call or text us, to respond to you, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f)), or to perform the purchase contract when the message concerns a Pro purchase or refund (Article 6(1)(b)); (b) nothing through the app itself, because it sends us no data. Your Pro purchase is processed by Google Play, which is an independent controller for the payment.
- Recipients: Microsoft (email hosting) and Google (purchases, the device backup you control, and Google Voice for calls and texts to our support number). No one else.
- International transfers: we are in the United States, so anything you email, call or text us about is processed there. Your email reaches us through Microsoft (our email host) and your calls, texts and voicemail through Google (our phone service); each of them publishes how it protects the data it handles. If you want to know more, email support@rejectedaltsstudios.com. Google handles any transfer involved in your purchase under its own policies.
- Is giving us your details required? No. Contacting us is voluntary; without an email address or phone number we have no way to reply, and a refund request needs your Google Play order number so Google Play can act on it.
- Retention: section 6: email, calls, texts and voicemail you send us are kept for up to 24 months after your request is closed, then deleted, unless we must keep a record longer; you can ask us to delete them sooner.
- Your rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing. To exercise any right, email us; we reply within one month.
- Complaints: you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
- No automated decisions: we make no automated decisions or profiling about you.
- EU representative: we have not appointed a representative in the EU or UK. Our processing of EU and UK personal data is occasional, small in scale, involves no special categories of data and is unlikely to result in a risk to your rights (Article 27(2)(a)). If that changes, this section will be updated.
12. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. The app has no web content and does no tracking, and this website does not track visitors, so there is nothing for us to switch off: every user is treated as if the signal were on.
13. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, the new version is posted at this address with the effective date updated at the top. If the app ever starts collecting data (for example, an optional crash report), this policy will be updated first and the change will be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play. Earlier versions are available on request.
